Newcastle defender Mike Williamson, has stated that the players take ‘full responsibility’ for the Southampton disgrace and promise to turn it around against Manchester United.
In the aftermath of the four goal defeat, Williamson has promised the usual stuff such as working hard at the training ground etc etc but anybody who watched that abject performance on the south coast will have little faith in anything changing against Manchester United.
“It is frustrating and it hurts, for me personally I feel that more than anybody.
“The message to the fans is that we just weren’t good enough and we’ve got to take full responsibility, though one thing we can assure them is that we will be working harder than ever and making sure next week that we put on a display far better than that, make sure we get back to doing the basics right.
“It is always disappointing when you concede goals but we didn’t do our jobs, a tough pill to swallow but we have to bounce back.
