Ben Arfa Return Date Targeted After Family Issues Prevented Training
After playing against Chelsea exactly a month ago, a Hatem Ben Arfa return date has now been targeted by his manager.
No details of any injury had been given out by the club as Ben Arfa missed Spurs, Villa and Hull, not even making the bench despite our very small squad creaking at the seams.
Now Alan Pardew has revealed that Hatem has just missed a week’s training due to a ‘family issue’ and he believes that Palace next Saturday is a realistic match to target for his return, telling the Shields Gazette;
“He is going to work this weekend and hopefully he will pick up some fitness between now and Crystal Palace.”
The chances of Hatem Ben Arfa staying at Newcastle don’t look great at this moment in time, the player only having started 12 league matches so far this season.
With the manager going for a team built on the likes of the hard working Gouffran and Sissoko in wide positions, even in the absence of the departed Cabaye, Pardew has shown little inclination to put much faith in Hatem Ben Arfa.
He joins a list of players who need to impress before the end of the season if they are going to reassure fans that they will be an asset to the club moving forward.
