Watch Brilliant Adam Armstrong Goal Put Newcastle Into Last 8 Of Cup – Video Special
A brilliant Adam Armstrong goal put Newcastle’s under 18s into the last eight of the FA Youth Cup and gives them every chance of emulating the likes of Gazza and Bobby Moncur who both won the competition with United.
Derby County Under 18s 0 Newcastle United Under 18s 1 Sunday 16 February
It was an eighth win in a row for the Newcastle youths and they will now face either Cardiff or Chelsea in a home tie for a potential place in the semi-finals.
A game of few chances sparked into life just before the hour mark when a superb bit of skill by Adam Armstrong sent Derby’s Ferrend Rawson totally in the wrong direction, the United striker then curling a lovely left footed strike past the helpless home keeper (watch video footage of Armstrong’s quality goal below).
Newcastle then had chances to put the tie away with the likes of Quinn and Aarons going close but it was a tense final period of the game and United survived a few scares before the final whistle sounded and the celebrations began.

Watch the goal below and judging by the cheers when Armstrong fires home, great to see/hear the Newcastle kids had such good support on their travels.
