Warrant Issued To Arrest Ex-Newcastle Star
The media in Northern Ireland are reporting today that a warrant has been issued to arrest Ex-Newcastle star Keith Gillespie.
The former Newcastle winger and part of the 1995/96 team that almost won the Premier League, Gillespie was due to appear in court charged with breaching a non-molestation order.
However, when 39 year old Gillespie was called at Newtownards Magistrates Court, there was ‘no response’, and District Judge Mark Hamill issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
The judge explaining that by failing to turn up for the court date, Gillespie had breached his bail and so was being issued with a warrant for his arrest.
Gillespie had made headlines again with a recently released autobiography entitled ‘How not to be a football millionaire’.
Judge Hamill said that by failing to turn up at court, Gillespie had breached his bail so he was issuing a warrant for his arrest.
Gilliespie made a total of 86 appearances for Northern Ireland but will probably be best remembered by people on Tyneside for his starring role with Tino Asprilla in the thrilling 3-2 win over Barcelona.
