Alan Pardew has pinpointed the lack of Newcastle United goals from all but a few of his first team players.

Ahead of Spurs, Pardew has asked for other to step up to the plate and referred to missing 24 goals (Remy 11, Cabaye 7, Gouffran 6) out of the team.

Ball…Net…Goal

“We know it is a game where we have to produce our best because Spurs have got a great result yesterday (v Everton).

“It is about being very professional and trying to get a win at home where we expect to win always.

“I’m always confident at home, though I think our record at home has dipped of late. That has coincided with losing a lot of goals out of the team.

“We have lost twenty four goals out of the team, forget about assists from Cabaye, Remy’s suspension and Gouffran injury, we need to step up to the plate.

“Other players in other areas and that is going to be important if we are going to win.

“We need to score goals.”

The relatively simple chances wasted by both Sissoko and Marveaux at Stamford Bridge, highlights just how few natural goalscorers Newcastle possess.

Apart from an own goal, the only other NUFC Premier League goals this season are Ben Arfa (3), plus Debuchy, Dummett, Cisse and Sissoko with one each.

With United failing to score in six of their last seven Premier League matches, who can ‘step up to the plate’ against Tottenham?
