The Alan Pardew Tottenham match verdict was a damning one.

The Newcastle manager claiming it wasn’t an ‘honest display’ by his players and revealing that he’d read the riot act after the final whistle to his players.

While the manager has also pointed out various shortcomings in his players, it is surely though a case that Pardew has to accept responsibility for his team’s performance as well.

alan pardew tottenham“I don’t think that was an honest display from us. I’ve mentioned a few things in the dressing room that I hope hit home to the players.

“Tottenham dominated proceedings from start to finish, they were stronger, they were more committed than us, they were more confident than us and they won with a bit to spare.

“We lacked confidence and we lacked a lot of other things, we need a break in front of goal. It’s testing, I had some really bad news on a personal level and then the game as well, it’s been a tough day.

“I never let the goals slip here and I won’t let them slip from now on.”
