What were your Newcastle v Spurs player ratings?

Interesting to get an outside perspective and the industry leader for an independent viewpoints is the whoscored rating system (used by numerous parts of the football industry, including media, bookmakers and clubs themselves).

Over 200 raw statistics are used to calculate the player ratings and are weighted according to influence in the game – taking into account the area of the pitch and its outcome for each important event.

So how did the United players come out of last night match? As a team they were shocking but what about as individuals?

These are the WhoScored ratings against Spurs;

7.4 Debuchy
6.9 Sammy Ameobi
6.7 Gouffran
6.5 Williamson
6.4 Santon
6.3 Cisse
6.3 Anita
6.2 Ben Arfa
6.2 Dummett
6.2 De Jong
6.1 Sissoko
5.8 Marveaux
5.4 Taylor
5.1 Krul

As a comparison, Adebayor was top rated with 9.1, while their bottom rated player was Lennon on 6.6.

Debuchy looked shattered by the end of the match but never gave up and was Newcastle’s top rated by some distance.

At the other end of the spectrum Tim Krul had a nightmare and by his standards you’d have certainly expected him to do better with the first two goals where he could only parry them into the paths of the attackers….though he might rightfully have been wondering where his defenders were. On that score Taylor wasn’t much about our keeper on the ratings.
