While Newcastle’s numerous players out on loan are having ‘mixed fortunes’ to say the least, one of them is thriving on getting regular football and could even make it to Brazil thanks to his loan move.

Dundee United are riding high in the Scottish Premier League and so is Curtis Good, the Newcastle defender has been in great form and his on loan team are currently fifth, only six points off a European place.

brazil world cupIt gets better though, as Good has now been called up for the senior Aussie squad as they play Ecuador in a friendly at Millwall’s New Den next week.

It is thought likely that the Aussie 20 year old defender will make his full international debut for the Socceroos in that match, giving him every chance to impress ahead of Brazil in the summer.

The following weekend sees Curtis Good in Scottish quarter-final cup action against Inverness and the possibility of going on to a second cup final in just over a year, following his adventure with Bradford.

One, possibly two, cup finals in a year, plus a possible trip to Brazil, I have a feeling more than one or two senior players in the Newcastle dressing room may be casting envious glances at Good’s cup exploits and possible World Cup finale to the season.
