Loic Remy thanked fans after the late late win against Aston Villa.

Remy said that he ‘felt a very good sensation with the fans’ after he struck the late goal and stated it was payback after letting everybody down with his sending off at Norwich.

The striker also stated how important confidence is and how even after missing a real sitter just before his late winner, he just kept his head down and continued to ‘walk and walk’.

“I signed to score goals for this team and the goal today is very important for me and for the team as well. We needed some confidence after the games we lost.

“I missed the opportunity just before my goal but I didn’t let my head go down and kept going – just to walk and walk, that is why I score.

“The supporters were expecting a lot from me because I lose my self control against Norwich. This type of thing will not happen again because I let down my teammates.

“When I scored I felt a very good sensation with the fans, it was amazing, so thank you to the fans.”

Seeing the goal again last night, Remy showed the extra class and composure he possesses to take the chance even at that high pressure moment. Without him on the pitch there’s no way we would have won.
