Loic Remy Rape Charge Dropped

It has just been revealed that yesterday (Thursday 13 February), the Loic Remy rape allegation that has been hanging over the player has been dropped.

Remy has always denied the allegations and now some nine months after the alleged incident, a formal statement has been made.

Officers from Sapphire (Sexual offences crime section) investigated an allegation of rape on May 6 (2013) in the Fulham area.

“The allegation was passon on to the Metropolitan Police by Kent Police on May 8 after the 34 year old female victim reported it the previous day – the victim alleged that she was raped by three men.

“Om Wednesday May 15 , three men aged 26, 22 and 23 were arrested at an address in Fulham on suspicion of rape and were taken into custody at a west London police station, all three bailed pending further inquiries.

“On February 13, following consultation with the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) the three men were informed that no further action would be taken against them.”

While this must be a huge weight off the player’s mind and it does make a permanent transfer out of QPR more likely to another club, whether there is any chance of that being Newcastle United is very much open to question.
