What the hell is wrong with Hatem Ben Arfa? His form has dipped significantly and he barely makes the bench?

When you see Sammy being picked ahead of him you know there is something wrong!

pardewedNot that Sammy is a bad player but Howay! Hatem is supposed to be the most technically gifted player in the team (by a mile) and can change the game in a moment.

I know that he has had his fair share of injuries, mood swings and weight problems, but a good manager would know how to get him out of that and have him back in top form. At some point I thought that Pardew has sorted him out but obviously he has not.

I think the main problem is not in Ben Arfa, that is his style and that is the way he is built and plays, therefore it is up to the manager to accommodate him into the team.

Pardew doesn’t play him because he doesn’t track back as much as Gouffran & Sissoko.

Why doesn’t Pardew have a deep look at his team before deciding that his most skilful player needs to track back and help the back 4 and the other 3 defensively minded midfielders on the pitch (4 when Cabaye was there).

If I was the manager (IF) then I would play him in a free role just behind the centre forward (Cisse, De Jong, Shola, or beside Remy). You have 4 defenders and 4 other midfielders to do the defensive duties for you, so why are you restricting your most skilful player in defensive duties?

Yes he loses the ball and is frustrating but he brings something the fans want, some skill and excitement! Isn’t that entertaining? You want that, or do you want the direct hoof the ball and sit tight? Not that it’s working is it Mr. Pardew?

The kid is brilliant and I am hoping he is still wearing our number 10 shirt next season; I don’t want to see him play for a manager like Rodgers who will get him scoring right left and centre for Liverpool? I want him to do that in a Newcastle shirt.

Hoping aside, I think it is too late and the damage is done.

Hatem, you’ve been Pardewed.
