Cisse Given 13 Matches To Prove Himself

Alan Pardew has given a very public Papiss Cisse ultimatum, with the striker told he has the next thirteen matches to prove himself.

Via Sky Sports News the Newcastle manager made this public challenge to the Senegal striker, to a backdrop of much speculation that he could still leave this month with the Russian transfer window open until the end of February.

This is what the Newcastle manager had to say;

“He (Papiss Cisse) needs to have a big 2nd half of the season for the summer.

“We’re going to have a decision to make with Papiss; whether he is going to stay at this club and be a big player for us, as he was 2 years ago and last season to a degree – or whether it is going to be pastures new.”

Pardew’s comments are slightly strange considering he has shown no interest in playing Cisse and Remy together, and once Remy is free for the Villa match then hard to see when & where the Newcastle United number 9 will get his next game.

Even Shola has been preferred to Cisse this season and now with Luuk De Jong in on loan I would be amazed if Papiss Cisse gets even a small second half of the season chance, never mind a ‘big second half of the season’.
