Alan Pardew ‘All The Players That Have Come Here Have Improved’

In recent days Newcastle United lost reserve team coach Willie Donachie following an alleged altercation with Remie Streete, where it is claimed the United coach struck the young United defender.

When asked about the loss of Donachie at his pre-Spurs press conference, the Newcastle manager used the occasion to wax lyrical about his coaching staff and strategy, making some bold claims along the way;

“We have now had to lose him (Willie Donachie) and that is a bitter blow to us but we have good coaches here.

“We like to think we put down the right foundations here for success.

“All the players that have come here have improved, I can’t think of one who hasn’t.

“That is the most important thing when you are looking at your coaching strategy.”

I think claiming every player has improved is well wide of the mark with players including Cisse, Santon, Sissoko and Mapou, amongst others, looking like they have gone backwards rather than forwards in terms of having seen at times what they have previously looked capable of.
