Alan Pardew ‘Newcastle Fans Are Fed Up Of Me Talking About That’
Alan Pardew was grim-faced as he admitted Newcastle fans are ‘fed up’ of him talking about injuries and had has pledged he won’t be going down that line again.
We’ll see.
This is the Newcastle’s manager’s honest assessment of Wednesday night’s display by his team as told to the club’s official TV channel;
“They were good and we were poor. I’m not going to make excuses; injuries, suspensions, whatever, it’s irrelevant and we’ve got to have a more honest performance than that.
“I thought the saves (by Lloris) were disheartening for the team, I could sense it kind of draining us. You know we haven’t scored for a while and he made two unbelievable saves.
“We did need a goal and it puts us under even more pressure when we play Aston Villa.”
Question – ‘You say injuries are not an excuse but missing players such as Tiote, Coloccini and Remy who are the spine of the team…?’
“Fans are fed up of me talking about that and I’m not going to talk about that any more. That performance I saw out there tonight wasn’t good enough for me and it shouldn’t be good enough for our fans.
“Leaving early, moaning about some of the things that went on, on that pitch – I understand all that.”
