Steven Taylor Transfer On Cards

Reports from Wales say that a Steven Taylor transfer to Newcastle is on the cards as new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks at options to strengthen his squad.

Only one place and one point above the relegation zone, the welsh club also have one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League with the Mackems one of only three to post a worse goals against total.

Taylor has never recovered from the first match of the season against Manchester City as he picked up a stupid red card and suspension, never regaining his place afterwards.

In recent times the Geordie centre-back has failed regularly to even make the bench and the cup defeat in Solskjaer’s debut match for Cardiff was the first start for Steven Taylor since that August opening game.

It would appear that Taylor is now fourth choice in the middle of the defence and if Sunday’s line up against Manchester City confirms that pecking order then he is very likely to accept his time is up at St.James’ Park.

However, previous stories of Taylor going out on loan look most unlikely as Alan Pardew is desperate to strengthen his squad so any move would have to be on a permanent basis.
