Rival Bid Of £4m For Papiss Cisse Transfer Reported
It is now reported that Newcastle United have turned down a £4m Papiss Cisse transfer bid.
The £4m offer is said to have been made by Turkish side Trabzonspor but rejected by Newcastle.
A number of media including the Mail are reporting the story and it may fit in with earlier reports that deal making middle man Muzzi Ozcan was in Turkey this week to try and broker a deal for Cisse, though Besiktas were the club principally linked with the forward, with their Director of Football admitting their interest on Friday.
The Besiktas Director Of Football, Onder Ozen, has confirmed the Turkish club is interested in signing Papiss Cisse this month.
Ozen is widely quoted in the Turkish media saying;
“He (Cisse) is a very valuable player that I like – he could make the difference for Besiktas.
“He is a very valuable player, and a player I like.”
Earlier in the week we brought you claims that a ‘middleman’ was due to meet Besiktas representatives on Thursday (yesterday);
‘The UK based middleman Muzzi Ozcan is reported to be meeting Besiktas tomorrow (Thursday) to try and broker the deal.
It is claimed that the Turkish club would prefer a loan initially but would be prepared to pay up to £7.5m if Newcastle insist on a permanent deal.
Newcastle are claimed to be offering Cisse around for £10m and the reports also claim that the player is looking for a pay deal of £3m AFTER tax.’
