Police Force All Sunderland Fans To Travel On Official Coaches To Newcastle
Confirmation came today that Northumbria Police are forcing all Sunderland fans to travel to the Newcastle v Sunderland match at St.James’ Park by coach.
No away fans will be allowed to make their own way to St.James’ Park and will instead have to take official coaches both to and from the match.
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that this will also be the case when Newcastle fans next travel to the Stadium of Light, whether that is next season or whenever.
The information provided to Sunderland fans states;
‘All SAFC supporters attending the match will be required to St.James’ Park on official transport.
This will include a fleet of buses departing from the Stadium of Light and also official supporters’ branch transport, with designated rendezvous points along the route.
All Transport will be provided free of charge.
Fans are advised that SAFC’s terms & conditions of issue for tickets for the game will clearly state that official transport must be used in order to gain access to St.James’ Park.
Supporters will also be required to leave St.James’ Park on the official transport provided.’
