With the derby game next weekend and considering our current league position and point tally, I would be more than happy if Alan Pardew to was field a weakened side against Norwich away and focus on the Sunderland match.

We cannot afford another home defeat to them. Gus Poyet has turned them around, they are in the final of the League cup and as I write they are currently still in the F A cup, competitions that our owner has publicly stated he has no interest in winning, regardless of what the fans might think.

sunderland matchSome might say that  a win is only bragging rights, however in  their time at the Toon both Mike Ashley and Alan Pardew should both know by now  what this game means to the Toon Army.

Enough of  these statements ‘the players know what this means to the fans’ etc ect – they need to prove it by performing on the day in front of us, all of who would give their right arm to be on the pitch playing in this game.

We should, bar a complete disastrous second half to the season, finish above Sunderland.

We have had some great performances this season and gained points against some of the title contenders, home and away.

Sometimes though we have a habit of dropping points to lesser clubs so let’s make sure this doesn’t happen next Saturday.

Howay the Lads!!
