Newcastle Winger Set For Loan Move

Following the departure of fellow winger Jonas Gutierrez, it is reported we could also see a Sylvain Marveaux loan deal in this January window.

The winger has been frozen out since appearing in the League Cup match against Leeds in September, though he was given a surprise recall to the bench when Manchester City visited St.James’ Park in our last home match.

The Newcastle fan website nufc.com has stated that both Sochaux and Marveaux’s former club Rennes, have both asked about a loan deal for the French winger.

Putting two and two together, the surprise sighting of Marveaux at the Man City match as an unused sub, could be seen as a way of showing the player is fit and available for selection.

If Sylvain Marveaux does indeed go elsewhere this window then along with Gutierrez’ departure it would see Newcastle saving a fair few quid on the wage bill, even if either French cub weren’t pocking up all of his wages.
