Alan Pardew had insisted in the build up that despite results United had been playing well and so it was with interest we waited to see if there were any changes to his Newcastle starting 11 vs West Ham.
The two most likely to come into the team were likely to come from the substitutes who appeared against Manchester City.
What is sure is that Loic Remy must surely have hoped for a bit of weight to be taken off his shoulders in terms of goal threat.
While there is no change in Alan Pardew’s line-up, the hope must be that Newcastle press from the start and give our solo striker maximum support.
Carroll can only make the bench for West Ham and so their biggest attacking threat is Carlton Cole and with a very makeshift defence due to five defenders out via suspension/injury – NUFC must take advantage.
NUFC line up with;
Krul, Mapou, Williamson, Taylor, Santon, Anita, Cabaye, Tiote, Gouffran, Sissoko, Remy
While on the bench the choice is;
Elliot, Haidara, Dummett, Ben Arfa, Obertan(???), Cisse, Shola
