Newcastle Hammer Sunderland In FA Youth Cup

A crowd of 3,501 saw Newcastle under 18s take their Sunderland rivals apart 4-0 in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.

The United kids made it three wins this season against their local rivals as they progressed to the fifth round and a trip to either Stoke City or Derby County.

The star of the show was Jonathyn Quinn who gave Newcastle a half-time lead and then added two more for a much treasured derby hat-trick.

The scoring was finished off by Adam Armstrong who added a fourth goal late in the match.

It is great to see a United team get beyond the fourth round of a cup…(the senior team has failed to so in any domestic cup while Ashley has been in charge) and the Newcastle youths will be hoping to emulate the likes of Paul Gascoigne and Bobby Moncur who lifted the FA Youth Cup in their respective early days with Newcastle United.
