Newcastle Concentrate On Champions League

Despite taking the lead on 61 minutes through Papiss Cisse, Newcastle out of FA Cup after yet again feebly bowing out at the first opportunity.

Goals from substitutes Noone (73 mins) and Campbell (80mins) won the match as Newcastle folded late on.

An open match had seen chances at both ends and while Cardiff were the better team early in the first half, by the time we got to half-time were edging it.

Hatem Ben Arfa was a constant threat and hit the woodwork as Newcastle looked to have control until the late horror show.

Alan Pardew has been very local in challenging the enigmatic Frenchman to show that he deserved a regular start, I’m not sure what he’ll say to some of his other players after they failed a very respectable 30,000+ crowd.

Newcastle: Elliot, Santon, Steven Taylor, Mapou, Haidara, Anita, Tiote, Gouffran (Obertan 63), Sissoko (Remy 85), Ben Arfa, Cisse (Shola 85)

Unused Subs: Alnwick, Dummett, Williamson, Sammy Ameobi

Ref: Anthony Taylor

Crowd: 31,166 (400 Away)
