New Laurent Blanc Contract Gives Green Light For Yohan Cabaye Signing
As you will no doubt know by now, it was revealed yesterday that Newcastle had turned down an opening 17m euros bid from Laurent Blanc for Yohan Cabaye.
The late January transfer activity follows closely on from Saturday’s news in the French media that Laurent Blanc had agreed a new contract with the French club.
Le Parisien announced that Blanc had agreed a new contract which would pay him £6m a year and was extended to June 2016, from his initial two year deal signed last year.
Towards the end of 2013 the PSG President, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, told L’Equipe that his 48 year old manager deserved a new contract and that he was one of world’s best managers.
With the full backing of his club’s owners via the new contract, it is little wonder that Laurent Blanc has belatedly sprung into action in this transfer window, with Yohan Cabaye top of his shopping list.
