Mike Jones Sent To Sunderland As Punishment For Refereeing Disaster

After his disastrous refereeing of Newcastle v Manchester City, Mike Jones has not been allocated a Premier League match to referee this weekend.

A desperate performance overall by the ref from, coincidentally(!), the north west was of course topped by his ludicrous decision to disallow Cheick Tiote’s goal. A move that went against the clear guidelines of the offside rules.

Now it has emerged that not, only has Mike Jones not been trusted with refereeing a game this coming weekend, but as an extra punishment he has been sent to Sunderland.

Jones has been named as the fourth official for the Sunderland v Southampton match which is the early televised kick-off game on Saturday lunchtime.

Knowing our luck, the named referee, Chris Foy, will pick up a freak injury during the match and Jones will be called into action and score a hat-trick for the mackems.

If you are tuning in then at the very least be prepared for a few choruses of ‘there’s only one Mike Jones’ from the rows of empty pink seats.
