Forward Linked With Newcastle Instead Travels To London For Talks

Amongst the many players Newcastle have been linked with, it looks as though highly rated young striker Paul-Georges Ntep will be heading elsewhere.

The 21 year old Auxerre forward scored at the weekend before getting on the Eurostar and travelling to London – as yet no reports of him dashing across the capital to make his connection at Kings Cross…

L’equipe have reported that despite repeated reports of Arsenal interest, it was actually Queens Park Rangers that the player was heading to for talks.

A transfer fee of around 6m Euros has been speculated and while Ntep has scored seven goals in seventeen league appearances this season, that has been in France’s Ligue 2 – a long way off the standard he would face in the Premier League.

Obviously a young relatively unknown quantity playing at a lower level in France would potentially have all the hallmarks of a Newcastle/Graham Carr signing, but with so many other clubs linked as well then you can’t see United getting into any kind of bidding war.
