England Star Sinks Newcastle Kids
Newcastle’s kids were taught a quickfire lesson when they met their Spurs counterparts and Andros Townsend on Tuesday afternoon.
The match had been scheduled for Bishop Stortford’s ground but was rained off on Monday night, so the game was switched to Spurs’ training ground to avoid a wasted journey.
The United Under 21s, including Paul Dummett and Gael Bigirimana, must have been suffering jet/bus lag as they went behind after only nineteen seconds and found themselves four down after twenty seven minutes.
If there were any comforts to be gained, then you could point to no further goals were conceded in the other sixty three minutes and Michael Richardson even pulled one back before a goalless second-half left a 4-1 scoreline.
It was overage Spurs and England player, Andros Townsend who was the main architect of the hiding, scoring once and making two of the other goals before he departed at half-time.
Newcastle: Alnwick, Satka, Dummett, Streete, Gillesphey, Aarons, Bigirimana (Olley 47), Richardson, Gilliead, Armstrong (Barlaser 73), Quinn
