Cisse Transfer Talks To Qatar

News today that a Papiss Cisse transfer to the middle east could be on the cards this month.

It is reported that talks have allegedly already taken place which would see the Newcastle striker move permanently to Qatar.

The story was first broken by The Sun on Sunday and now various other media are reporting it as well.

With opportunities rare at Newcastle this season and with Remy one of the first names on Alan Pardew’s team sheet, it is hard to see anything changing unless the on loan striker gets an injury.

The Newcastle manager shows no interest of pairing Remy and Cisse together, which has meant it has been far more likely to see Remy playing alone, or with Shola, or even the possibility of Ben Arfa playing in behind.

Alan Pardew has talked of big problems if Newcastle wait until the summer to try and bring in a number of essential signings, so the departure of Cisse would in theory make a new striker signing appear far more likely in this window.

However, Andy Carroll was sold with no immediate replacement and Newcastle also went into the 2011/12 season with only one decent goalscorer in Demba Ba.

One other theory with the ‘Cisse For Qatar’ headlines could be that lazy journalists have glanced at last January’s headlines when QPR’s Djibril Cisse moved on loan to Al Gharafa of Qatar…
