Reports from a usually reliable source say that a Luuk De Jong Newcastle transfer is now on, plus another three potential signings including Remy Cabella.
De Jong was previously linked with United but he signed for Borussia Monchengladbach in a £12m move but it hasn’t worked out.
Sky Sports are saying their ‘sources’ are telling them that De Jong is expected to arrive on an initial loan in January with a view to a permanent deal, with Sky saying they understand Newcastle are ‘confident’ of landing the Dutch striker.
In distant days it was the Chronicle that United used to break their transfer dealings but long before the current ban it has been Sky Sports as the preferred option.
The breaking story on Sky Sports says that Mike Ashley has said he will fund up to four signings in this current transfer window with midfielder/winger Cabella also very likely to sign, with Sky’s ‘sources’ claiming the player is ‘keen to make the switch’.
The report concludes with the assertion that Ashley has also made clear that the potential incoming transfer activity will not mean any of Pardew’s key players, including Yohan Cabaye, leaving.
The season has taken a massive knock in recent days but an influx of goals/creativity would give everybody connected with NUFC a massive lift.
