The good news is that the Hatem Ben Arafa cup dreams remain despite being left out after a man of the match performance against Stoke on Boxing Day.

While, along with his teammates, Hatem added nothing when he came on at the Hawthorns, the Newcastle winger has promised that lessons have been learnt;

ben arfa cup“We’ve learnt lessons from what we did wrong (last 2 matches) but we’ve also got to forget about it and focus for Saturday for as Cardiff is a big game.

“We’ve won a lot of games over the last 2 months – yes we’ve lost against West Brom and Arsenal but we’re ok, we’ve got to quickly focus for the next game.

“The FA Cup’s famous around the world, we know how important it is, we’re going to try and do the best we can in the competition.”

Speaking to the club’s official website, Ben Arfa also spoke a good game as he reiterated that whenever he gets the chance he is 100% committed;

“I am glad to be on the pitch whenever I get the chance, I try my best and everybody in our dressing room puts in 100% to play.

“That’s good for Newcastle because we’ve a really good group.”

Let’s hope that Saturday against Cardiff is the day that Ben Arfa is reignited, along with Papiss Cisse, and everybody including the fans and Alan Pardew run out winners – both in the FA Cup and for the rest of the season.
