Pardew Delivers Good/Bad News On Newcastle Injuries
The Newcastle manager has delivered mixed news on Newcastle injuries in the lead up to the match at Old Trafford.
Last night Alan Pardew’s options to try and get United back in the match were obliterated when it was discovered Papiss Cisse couldn’t even get his boot on due to a heel injury, while Hatem Ben Arfa was sitting at home with a virus.
Whether Hatem Ben Arfa would have played if fit to freshen things up, is something we’ll never know, but Alan Pardew has told the Shields Gazette that he expects one of the two Newcastle pair to be back for the trip to Manchester United
“We lost Papiss (Cisse) before the game and we’d already lost Hatem to a virus. We did noy have those two options which would have been nice.
“We lost Papiss (Cisse) just before the game, he couldn’t get his boot on. He was a bit uncomfortable and we’ll have to see how it goes.
“Hatem will be no problem, he’s up and about, though he’s at home. We checked with him and he was a lot better – two more days and he should be ok.”
