Newcastle United Fight Ends in Charges

Obviously the press loved it as the match wasn’t the best but the ‘Newcastle United Fight’ during the Southampton match has led to charges for two of the protagonists.

In the black and white corner we have goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman who has been charged with ‘improper conduct’.

While in the red and white one, there is Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo, facing the more serious charge of violent conduct.

Both parties have until the 23rd December to respond to the FA charges but the two clubs don’t have anything levelled against them.

The melee was prompted by a poor challenge on Massadio Haidara which brought a reaction from the United bench as Schneiderlin only received a yellow card.

An interesting diversion from the match but thankfully more worrying for the visiting team as any punishment for our goalkeeping coach would have zero impact on the team, while Southampton’s £15m striker’s part in the scuffle could be a negative for his manager’s plans.
