Newcastle Under 18s In Six Goal Classic With Liverpool

The Newcastle under 18s played out a very entertaining six goal thriller ahead of the first team’s match against West Brom.

The Geordie youngsters started well and went two up through strikes from Macauley Booth and Jonathyn Quinn.

However, reminiscent of a certain other match from our past, the scousers came back into it when Ryan Kent scored just as the half-time whistle was about to blow.

It then became a four goal thriller when Liverpool’s Jerome Sinclair made it 2-2, followed by what looked the winner for the visitors as Harry Wilson put the reds ahead for the first time in the game.

Happily though, substitute Tom Heardman rescued a point as he finished off a free-kick with his first touch after coming on.

So six goals shared and honours also shared around.

NUFC Under 18s:

Mitchell, Sterry (Storey 46), Booth, Gillesphey, Cameron, Roberts (Heardman 76), Drennan, Olley, Barlaser, Aarons, Quinn
