Newcastle Transfer Target Turns Down United

Today brought news that a Newcastle transfer target has turned down a move to St.James’ Park.

Earlier today we brought news that a player NUFC had been linked with, Warner Hahn, had signed for Feyenoord on a three year contract.

With Newcastle linked to so many players it is obviously tricky deciding what is fact and fiction but now 21 year old Hahn has confirmed that Alan Pardew had indeed been after his signature.

The 6ft 6 keeper telling De Telegraaf over in Holland;

“I’m incredibly happy with this 3 year contract.

“I could have chosen from many clubs; Newcastle, Celtic, Roma, Lazio. It got crazier by the day.

“However, for me it was already clear that I wanted to develop in Holland at Feyenoord.

“I come from Rotterdam and  Feyenoord is a great club in all respects. I can only be content in retrospect as to how my career has gone so far.”

The fact that Newcastle were seriously pursuing Hahn then obviously makes you wonder if he was lined up to replace one of our current goalkeepers.

We may never know, unless Newcastle switch their attention to yet another goalkeeping target…
