Newcastle Loan Star Wonder Goal Secures Club In Play-Offs
Newcastle United loan players Haris Vuckic and James Tavernier have helped make a massive impact since their temporary move to Rotherham.
In front of over eighteen thousand at Bradford yesterday, Vuckic scored a ‘top drawer’ goal that made it four wins in a row on the road and unbeaten in eight altogether.
The Newcastle United loan players have helped secure Rotherham’s spot in one of the League One play-off places as the unbetaen run has put them five points clear of 7th placed Swindon.
Rotherham boss Steve Evans;
“It was a top drawer finish from Haris but he has the quality to do that.”
While the Sheffield Star described the Vuckic winner yesterday;
‘Just outside the area, he (Vuckic) was closed down but the ball broke to Kieran Agard who laid it aside to Vuckic near the corner of the area on the right. With no more ado and sizing things up in an instant, he knew what was ‘on’ and trusted his skill and technique by striking a measured first time left-footed shot, that rose beyond the keeper and high into the far side of the net.”
Good to see some of the younger players doing well on loan and prospering, whether or not their long-term futures will be on Tyneside or not.
