Newcastle Linked With Move For German International

Newcastle United have been linked with a German international midfielder, Aaron Hunt of Werder Brenen.

Hunt has spent the whole of his career at the German club but as yet has not signed a new contract and is expected to leave either in January or see out his contract in June.

The 27 year old midfielder has played a handful of times for the German national team and indeed turned down interest from England, who he could have played for with his mother coming from over here.

Hunt has scored some forty goals from a midfield spot for Werder Bremen and last season registered his best ever return with 11 league goals.

There is also a local link as the player’s grandfather went to school locally with Bobby Charlton.

Easy to see why a goalscoring international midfielder, who is shortly out of contract , might interest Mike Ashley. However, even if Newcastle do have serious interest in Hunt, they will face competition from a number of other clubs for his services.
