Newcastle Captain Reveals Secret Of Old Trafford Win

Fabricio Coloccini has revealed the secret of why Newcastle beat Man U at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The early kick-off saw the visitors the better team overall and easily deserving of the victory by the final whistle.

So what was the big secret? Well there are no magic answers as we know from down the years and Coloccini simply points to working hard together.

That of course only works if you have players of quality and that is what the likes of Remy, Cabaye and Coloccini himself supply.

This is what the United Captain had to say to the official club website;

“To keep a clean sheet against a team like Manchester United means we’re working hard for each other.

“After the mistakes last year we’ve learned a lot away from home, we know when we can play and when we’ve to be more direct.

“The goal came from Tim’s long ball to Moussa, sometimes you need to play like that.

“Sometimes you have to change it and you also have to fight, it’s a special day because after 41 years we’ve finally won here.

“The fans should be proud of the team because on top of the result we played well, we beat Manchester United and it wasn’t luck – we deserved to win.

“We worked hard together today and that’s why the team won.”

Not sure that kicking it long is a great new tactic just because we scored our goal partly thanks to it!

We’ve seen far too much last season where Newcastle became depressingly familiar with long hope(-less?)ful punts down the pitch.

Keeping possession for long periods yesterday was at the heart of the win.

More of the same please.
