Mike Ashley Must Face Blatantly Obvious
Thanks to Neal Kirkup who has raised the following: ‘I would like to highlight something that is really starting to annoy me regarding NUFC and in particular the St James Park atmosphere.
Considering we have in around 50K attendances at home games, with a good amount of away fans, the atmosphere generated by NUFC fans is extremely poor.
I’ve been going to ‘the match’ for many years, I can’t make it as much these days, being down in Nottingham etc, but I do try to get up when I can, especially as my son is now black n white daft too (That’s my fault!).
He can now experience what I have – some good times, some not so good times, but I’m not complaining, I had great times, especially in the 80s travelling to London……
Anyway, my main gripe is that Mr. Ashley has done some good things and some really poor things, but the one that is having the effect of slowly killing the club is that of stopping like-minded lads and lasses who want to sing, shout and generally create a great atmosphere that has an effect on us all in the ground.
This is something that MUST be addressed, he has to realise that with an atmosphere that will rival any club in the country – NUFC will be a much stronger and formidable club, and will also attract more fans in the process.
They (singing/shouting section) need an area closer to the away section, like we used to have, that will hold noisy NUFC supporters. It is blatantly obvious.’
