Midfield Star Claims Newcastle Team Spirit Still Intact
Newcastle United’s midfield enforcer Cheick Tiote has promised that the Newcastle team spirit has not been damaged by the 3-0 defeat to Swansea on Wednesday night.
The Magpies’ 4 game winning streak came to an abrupt end at the Liberty Stadium thanks to a below-par performance and some controversial refereeing decisions.
However, the Ivorian says they are ready to bounce back tomorrow at Old Trafford, despite the fact that no Newcastle United team has triumphed away to Manchester United since Joe Harvey’s side ran out 2-0 winners in 1972.
‘We all need to stay together and think about the next game now. If you win, you win together, if you lose, you lose together. We are together.’
After Magpies fans made a 700+ mile round-trip to support the team on Wednesday night, Tiote simply said ‘I just want to thank them.’
United face Manchester United in a televised 12:45 kick off tomorrow.
