Mark Hughes Charged After Newcastle Clash

The after effects of the Boxing Day match keep on coming, with Mark Hughes charged with improper conduct.

News of the charge has been posted on the FA website and relates to his behaviour towards the end of the first half when referee Martin Atkinson sent Hughes to the stands after he petulantly kicked a ball onto the pitch.

The Stoke boss then embarrassingly took off his coat and threw it to the floor.

The FA’s brief statement reads;

“Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has been charged by the FA following his side’s game at Newcastle United yesterday.

“It’s alleged that his behaviour in or around the fortieth minute of the fixture amounted to improper conduct.”

Mark Hughes has until 2nd January 2014 to respond to the FA charge.

As a player Hughes’ behaviour left much to be desired and he is one of an ever growing number of arrogant managers, such as Bruce and Allardyce, where nothing is ever theirs or their players’ fault and always looking for somebody to blame.
