Demba Ba Turns His Back On ‘Alcohol and Scantily Dressed Girls’

8 years ago

When the Demba Ba transfer went through from Newcastle to Chelsea, it appears that it wasn’t only the fans and teammates that the striker left behind.

Demba has been talking about his days on Tyneside to French publication So Foot and revealed what he made of life off the pitch at Newcastle United.

Demba Ba;

My behaviour was never bad but let’s just say that it wasn’t what Islam teaches.

“Nightclubs for example!

“Other people would tell me that it was fine but I do not go to them any more, there is alcohol, loud music and scantily dressed girls – it is a dangerous cocktail.

“At Newcastle all my friends wanted me to come out with them after the last day of the season.

“I went into the club and straight away turned my head from left to right and said ‘That is it, I’m off!”

What would George Best have said…

An interesting insight into how football has changed over the years and the intertwining of cultures at various football clubs, especially our own.

Sadly Demba Ba was always desperate to say ‘That is it, I’m off’ and indeed he was the following January to sit on the bench at Chelsea.
