Cooccini Slams Press Claims

The latest Coloccini leaving Newcastle claims surfaced a couple of weeks ago with ‘quotes’ in the press back in Argentina following the Captain’s last visit to the home country.

Those press claims hadn’t been refuted by club or player, until seemingly now.

Speaking to the Shields Gazette, Fabricio Coloccini had this to say;

β€œIt is nothing, it is old news – the press sometimes say things I said months ago, not now.

I respect the fans and when I go onto the pitch I always give 100% for the shirt because the give me lots of love and I have to say thank you.”

Good to hear our Captain saying all the right things but the lack of communication is a major problem.

I know the club and players can’t respond to everything in the press but with Coloccini now doing that weeks after the event it does make you question why he and Newcastle’s press office didn’t put out a short rebuff at the time.

While I do like him as a player, his conduct back in January was anything but satisfactory considering the money and support he’s had from both club and fans.

A phrase that always goes through my head from my childhood days is ‘…well he started it’.
