Club Postpone NUFC Fans Meeting At Last Minute

Only hours before the second fans forum for NUFC fans was due to take place, the club have sent a message via Twitter on Monday (today) morning saying the meeting is cancelled.

There is nothing on the club website and indeed the dedicated Fans Forum page on the Newcastle United site still says the meeting is tonight (Monday 16th December), but the club Tweet simply states the next meeting is 6th January 2014.

No explanation has been given for the postponement at this late stage.

Earlier today (see article [intlink id=”37403″ type=”post”]HERE [/intlink]) we revealed that Newcastle United Directors had cancelled a meeting that they’d organised with Newcastle United Supporters Trust (NUST) to talk about the club’s decision to ban the Trust from the Fans Forum.

An NUST statement also made clear that Newcastle United had ignored all communications from the Trust, including a request for written confirmation of why NUST had been banned from the Fans Forum.

Furthermore, the FSF (Football Supporters Federation) had also written to the club in support of NUST, asking for the club to step back from this regressive step of banning the only democratic elected fans organisation open to all supporters.
