Alan Shearer Santa’s Little Helper
Wednesday was Alan Shearer Santa’s little helper day as children were delighted to come nose to nose with a real life reindeer when they arrived at the Alan Shearer Centre Christmas party.
Santa Claus had taken a moment from his busy pre-Christmas schedule to be there in person to give out gifts and to rest Pancake, his reindeer, in the Centre’s grounds.
Alan Shearer also dropped by to wish all the children a happy Christmas and to join in some of the festive frolics, which included magic performances, balloon modelling, face painting, a treasure hunt, party food and a disco.
He said: “It’s fantastic to see so many children here and that everyone’s having so much fun.”
The under-11 guests, wearing reindeer, Santa or Christmas pudding badges, enjoyed some themed party games including pass the Christmas parcel, pin the tail on Rudolph and a musical, red nose competition. Everyone went home with a gift of a selection box.
“All the children have had a fantastic time,” said centre manager, Jackie Dunn, “It was a truly magical day full of fun and lovely surprises!”
