Alan Pardew ‘I’m A Weak Southerner’

Alan Pardew wearing a scarf raised a laugh after the match when interviewed.

The Newcastle manager was asked if the scarf he’d worn the last couple of matches was now a lucky one but he chose instead to bring up the north/south divide at his own expense.

Speaking the NUFC TV the manager replied when asked about his stylish scarf;

“No, I’m just getting cold. I’m a weak southerner so I’m sure the Geordie faithful won’t mind me wearing a scarf.”

Any perceived softness was certainly not something that could be aimed at Pardew’s Newcastle team, as yet again their workrate was second to none and the manager was keen to talk about that, plus of course the ‘Golden Moment’;

“I’m delighted because it was a really tight game and we really had to work very very hard to secure that, it was a wonder goal and I’m pleased that our fans see that.

“I think a lot of the work we did today went unnoticed and there was so much hard work that pitch but there was one golden moment, what a great goal.”

West Brom have proved a handful on previous visits to St.James’ Park and their results on the road at Everton, Manchester united and Chelsea are proof of what they can achieve through their own hard work.

Yesterday, United topped that.
