Alan Pardew – Remy Should Be Scoring Twice As Many Goals!

When asked about the dearth of Newcastle goal scorers, Alan Pardew admitted that it would be good if he had more players chipping in but welcomed back Yohan Cabaye.

As for his main goal scorer, the Newcastle manager came out with a dubious statistic for Loic Remy that might be stretching the facts slightly.

Alan Pardew today claimed that his centre forward should score plenty of goals as four out of every five chances fall to him.

“He is the spearhead of the attacks so 80% of the time the chances are going to fall his way and we’re lucky in that he’s a clinical finisher but it is always nice to chip in and we welcome Cabaye back this weekend, who is a massive player for us.”

So quickly using my fingers, Loic Remy is actually letting the side down because if he does get 80% of the chances, he has currently scored less than 40% (8 of 21) of our Premier League goals!
