Alan Pardew and Tim Krul Pick Up Top Awards

There would have been a stewards inquiry if he hadn’t done so, but Alan Pardew manager of the month is now confirmed for November.

As a welcome bonus, Tim Krul has joined him on the podium with the player of the month for November.

Krul conceded only two goals in four games but it must surely have been his display at White Hart Lane that clinched it ahead of the likes of Arsenal’s outstanding Aaron Ramsey.

Alan Pardew oversaw four wins in four matches, including the two headline victories over Chelsea and Spurs.

With 12 points out of 12, the nearest challengers only had three wins and 9 points so anything other than giving it to Pardew would have been a shocker.

This is the first for a Newcastle manager since the days of Sir Bobby and Kevin Keegan, with Alan Pardew bizarrely not picking up at least one monthly award when he finished up as manager of the year two seasons ago, due to the way the team’s results fell.

Congratulations to all concerned but typical Newcastle United luck, the trophies arrive on arguably the back of Krul’s worst display of the season at Swansea and the manager’s tactics under scrutiny in that trip to Wales.
