Striker Linked With Newcastle Now Transfer Listed

‘Only’ six weeks to go until the January sales (and buys hopefully) begin and whetehr Newcastle actually bring anybody inor not, there is certainly no shortage of players being linked with Tyneside.

Ten days ago we reported that Juventus’ thirty year old Mirko Vucinic was being mentioned as a January target for Newcastle and now it has been announced that the Italian club have made clear he is available for transfer.

Vucinic is a striker for Montenegro and joined Juventus for 15m euros in 2011.

A versatile striker who can play through the middle or wide either side, Vucinic’ best year saw him score 14 league goals in a season and so his real value would appear to be as a secondary striker rather than the central role.

Juve signed both Tevez and Llorente in the summer and subsequently Vucinic has only started a handful of matches this season.

Reports in Italy claim Juve would demand at least 10m euros for the striker and a number of other clubs such as Spurs and Dortmund are also said to be interested.

Yet again with these transfer stories, we know Newcastle desperately need another goal scoring option with Cisse badly out of sorts, but you also find it very difficult to see Mike Ashley sanctioning a move for such a high profile striker already on big money and no future sell-on value.

Unless it was a loan…but this would appear unlikely with claimed interest elsewhere and no doubt Juventus looking to reinvest on player(s) elsewhere?
