Pardew “It’s Not Easy For A Player To Take The Criticism We Sometimes Get Here”

After the match, Alan Pardew mixed the usual post-match win patter with some below the belt digs at those he sees as giving him and his players a hard time.

After the match, the Newcastle manager singled the Newcastle fans out for criticism, claiming they give the players a particularly hard time when things are going badly.

This is what Pardew had to say to the club’s official TV channel after the final whistle against Chelsea;

“Our workrate, our commitment, our spirit, our togetherness, was great – and I really that it is a privilege for the players. They deserved a lot of credit today because they took a lot of criticism this week.

It’s not easy for a player to take the criticism that we sometimes get here. So fair play to them.”

All very strange because the manager and his players should thank their lucky stars they play in front of the incredibly supportive United crowd.

Last season, Pardew and his team went on a Premier League run of only three wins in eighteen matches and I doubt any manager at any other club could have survived that.
