Newcastle v Chelsea Retro Video Special – Andy Cole

This week we were looking at various angles that tie NUFC together with Chelsea, featuring them in the latest Mag Auctions of classic Newcastle United memorabilia.

A new batch of NUFC collectables made available on eBay with prices starting from as low as 99p.

We stretched the net wide and while Samuel Eto’o failed to impress as a substitute yesterday, one of our featured auction items is a signed ticket from when the star striker played for Real Mallorca v Newcastle in the UEFA Cup.

On the beating Chelsea theme we thought we’d also treat you with a video special. Back in 1994 United thrashed the blues 4-2 with the bonus of Dennis Wise getting sent off, the programme from that day (click HERE) is part of the auctions and at the bottom of this post we have video footage of the brilliant Andy Cole goal that set United on the way in that great performance.

We also included Manchester City in this week’s acutions and while Newcastle United’s League Cup history isn’t exactly a glorious one and the loss to Man City only added to that, we have both the match programme and a match ticket from the only appearance Newcastle have made in the final – we actually played pretty well…but still lost.

On a happier subject we also have a trading card featuring the great Hughie Gallacher.

The Scottish legend of course led United to their last League Title win before moving to Chelsea where he was top scorer four years in a row – when the pocket dynamo striker returned with Chelsea to St.James’ Park it attracted Newcastle United’s greatest ever home attendance, such was the love and respect for the departed forward.

With a deep love of United’s history and the classic memorabilia and programmes that are a big part of that, we bring you our very own auctions.

Delving into Newcastle’s extraordinary history, a number of items up for auction via eBbay, with prices starting from as a little as 99p.

Not everybody will want to bid on the items but we are sure that the range of items will provoke interest and debate, plus the memories flooding back.

It costs nothing to look and with the auctions lasting for a week you have plenty of time to keep an eye and bid at any time over the 7 days, potentially picking up a real bargain.
