Newcastle United Star – ‘I’m No Goalkeeper’
Having recently lost his place in the Newcastle United starting XI, Hatem Ben Arfa has pledged his loyalty to the club and said he will play anywhere on the field in order to regain his place in the team – just not goalkeeper.
After match winning performances against Aston Villa and Fulham, Ben Arfa suffered a dip in form which resulted in his dropping to the bench for recent games with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. The results of these games – both wins – cannot be argued with, but the 26 year old Frenchman who has been deployed in a variety of offensive positions this season, has vowed to regain his place in the starting line-up.
“I’ll play anywhere on the pitch if the gaffer thinks it is best for the team. I have to give 100% on the pitch. I am a professional football player, it is the same for any player.
“I will play anywhere…just not goalkeeper!”
Nevertheless, Ben Arfa looks set to remain on the bench for this Saturday’s visit of Norwich City after Pardew’s plan of deploying Loic Remy and Shola Ameobi as his two forwards have helped yield good results in the last two games.
